IRUS-UK is funded by Jisc. The service is being developed by a consortium involving Jisc, Cranfield University and Evidence Base.
IRUS (Institutional Repository Usage Statistics) enables UK Institutional Repositories (IRs) to share and expose statistics based on the COUNTER standard. It will provide a nation-wide view of UK repository usage to benefit organisations such as Jisc, it will offer opportunities for benchmarking and act as an intermediary between UK repositories and other agencies.
IRUS-UK collects raw usage data from UK IRs and processes these data into COUNTER-compliant statistics. This provides repositories with comparable, authoritative, standards-based data.
IRUS-UK is a community- driven development responding to user needs.
In the initial stages of development, IRUS worked with a pilot group of repositories. We are now seeking to expand participation.
If you are a UK repository wishing to participate in IRUS-UK, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
Development of IRUS-UK is informed through a variety of routes, with particular input from our Community Advisory Group (CAG). This is made up of members of the IRUS-UK team together with representatives from a wide range of users, including institutional repositories using various platforms across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
